Max Libao was born in Manila, Philippines, and moved to Southern California when he was seven.  He has always had two passions – science and dance.  After deciding to pursue a career in the scientific field, Max has attained over 24 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and is currently a service delivery manager.  Throughout the years, his love of dance has never left him as he has always found a way to include dance in his life.

Max bought his very first vinyl record – Beat Street – when he was just 10 years old because the music and dance inspired him.  In high school, he participated in the talent show for several years as part of a hip hop dance duo called 2 Hype.  At UC Riverside, he continued to perform in talent shows and house parties, joining the 909 Dance Crew in its inaugural year.  In his professional life, Max still had the itch for dance and became a certified group fitness instructor in 2007.  He has since taught various formats such as cardio hip hop and cardio kickboxing.  Having been introduced to GROOV3 by fellow instructor, Mychele Sims, in early 2015, Max took the next step and became a certified GROOV3 instructor in November 2015.

Max is a firm believer of GROOV3’s mission to “inspire change and build communities through the power of dance” as well as the philosophy of “leave no dancer behind.”  He is so excited to bring the GROOV3ment to the Inland Empire area in Southern California!  Max has taught at the world famous "The Lab Creative Arts Studio" in West Covina as well as various 24 Hour Fitness locations in Chino Valley. He currently teaches at Music Tree in Pomona.  His dance influences include Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, MC Hammer, and Missy Elliott.
