Donny Bran, aka DJ Slim Dee, was born and raised in Anaheim, California. At a young age, he was exposed to a wide array of music genres; his grandfather loved Jazz, his sister collected R&B tapes, and his parents enjoyed Merengue on Sunday mornings. He developed a passion for music over the years and began to share it amongst his peers. At age 18 he found interest in the art of turntablism, and with the help of his brother, he purchased a pair of Technics 1200’s. Soon after, he started DJing at local parties and continued to do so throughout college.
After graduating from Cal State Fullerton, Slim Dee decided to pursue a career as a DJ in the music/entertainment business. To date, Slim Dee has DJ’d over 400 events at more than 30 venues across Southern California. He currently works with GROOV3 “LA’s Hottest Dance Workout”, holds a residency Thursday nights at The Continental Room in Fullerton, and has DJ’d at venues including The Riviera in Palm Springs, Sutra in Costa Mesa, and The House of Blues in Anaheim. Slim Dee stays busy recording demos and DJing private events such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate events. He is currently an “event specialist” but plans to run a record label in the near future.
